Chile’s sovereign green bonds, finalists in Latin Lawyer’s Deal of the Year award in the Capital Markets category
The first issue and placement in the international markets of two “green” Sovereign Bonds issued by the State of Chile in Dollars and Euros respectively, are one of the three finalist financial transactions for the Latin Lawyer Deal of the Year award, in the Capital Markets category. These transactions, in which Morales & Besa advised the issuer, stand out for being one of the first issues of these instruments in the world and the first in Latin America.
The finalists are:
- BR Distribuidora privatized after US$2.2 billion Petrobras issuance
- Chile issues Latin America’s first green sovereign bonds
- Santander ups stake in Mexican subsidiary for US$1.4 billion
We congratulate our Capital Markets team, led by our partner Guillermo Morales, for this recognition which adds to the awards presented by LatinFinance in February in which these bonds won the category Sovereign Issuer of the Year, and the opening on the stock exchange of Cencosud Shopping S.A., the Initial Public Offering of the Year.
The team that participated in this consultancy was composed by Mariana Schnettler, Beatrice Russo (former international intern) from Capital Markets; Jaime Rosso from Tax and Francisca Bannura from Regulation and Environment.
