Morales & Besa advises Banco de Crédito e Inversiones (BCI) in consumer protection case
Morales & Besa is representing Banco de Crédito e Inversiones in two class actions commenced by different Consumers’ Associations alleging different breaches to the Consumer Protection Act.
In the first case, the Consumers’ Association, ODECU, alleged that BCI breached the Consumer Protection Act by introducing blacklisted clauses to its mortgage agreements, which permitted the bank to withhold, in his favour, third parties expenses payments made by the consumers.
In the second case, the Consumers’ Association, CONADECUS, alleged that BCI breached the Consumer Protection Act by introducing blacklisted clauses to its mortgage agreements in connection with associated insurances and in favour of its related insurance company.
