Morales & Besa Labor partner Fernando Arab, presented at a Labor Reform Seminar organized by the Schools of Law at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and the Universidad de Chile

September 6, 2016

Considering the next promulgation and publication of the Labor Reform, both Schools of Law sought to create a space for dialogue and reflection on the changes proposed by this bill, with a Labor Reform Seminar: Content and Applications, held on 24 and 25 August.

Fernando Arab,  was  part of the group of academics and professionals who participated in the seminar.  His presentation focused on the contents of the collective agreement and its impact on labor relations. In this regard he argued “Hopefully  we can achieve harmonious industrial relations and collaborative work. Now, we can discuss whether the formula used was correct or not, or if the project will achieve anything or if there was no such purpose, but precisely the opposite, that is, to create more conflict, less respect between the parties and less dialogue. Each defend their own positions. At the end of the day, we can solve the question that we propose here , that is, if the reform was a step forward or backward in terms of collective labor relations.”
