Morales & Besa shortlisted in three categories of the IFLR Americas Awards 2020

April 7, 2020

We are proud to inform  that IFLR selected Morales & Besa among the five shortlisted firms in the National Firms of the Year category in Chile. In addition, the Capital Markets team once again stands out with two nominations in Transactions of the Year: the issuance of the first green sovereign bonds in Latin America and the IPO of Cencosud Shopping S.A., the largest in the history of the local market, in the categories Debt and Equity-linked and Equity, respectively.

IFLR rewards transactions in 9 categories and the first condition for selecting transactions is that they must be cross-border and, and in the case of capital markets, the issuers must be based in the Americas. Regarding the recognition of legal firms in 17 jurisdictions, IFLR recognizes those with the best transaction record in 2019, with a high weighting of cross-border agreements.

The nominations for the green sovereign bonds and the IPO of Cencosud Shopping S.A., are in addition to those made by Latin Lawyer Deal of the Year Awards and the awards given by Latin Finance. For their outstanding performance, we congratulate our partner Guillermo Morales, who led both advisories on the issuers’ side, and Andrea Díaz, Mariana Schnettler, Jaime Rosso and Francisca Bannura, who were part of the the teams involved. Also, to all Morales & Besa for being in the small group of shortlisted firms for the National Firms of the Year in Chile Award.
