We share our knowledge and experience
We invest time and expertise to build reliable partnerships that enrich both parties.
Pro Bono is an integral part of our practice. Just as we have a duty to represent our clients we believe we also have an obligation to represent those without a voice. We are passionate about sharing our skills and expertise to enable change for good. Our Pro Bono practice is focused on worthwhile causes in the public interest with an emphasis on diversity and equality.
We are committed to promoting comprehensive and effective access to justice and effective legal assistance to disadvantaged people or communities. We encourage our lawyers to volunteer part of their time to pro bono work, which is approached with the same enthusiasm and resources as our other practice areas. Our lawyers use their skills and experience to provide legal advice and assistance to persons and entities that lack the means to pay for such services, are disadvantaged or would otherwise not have access to justice, in exchange our lawyers have a valuable opportunity for personal and professional growth.
Morales & Besa is one of the signatories of the “Pro Bono Declaration for the Americas”, committing each of our lawyers to undertake more than 20 hours per annum of pro bono work. We are also a member of the Pro Bono Foundation and part of TrustLaw, the pro bono international program of the Thomson Reuters Foundation.
Our Pro Bono practice Morales & Besa program is run by a committee which is led the partners Guillermo Morales and Juan Carlos Valdivieso, and the associates Cristian Cornejo, Sofía Sánchez and Regina Pirozzi.
